The Beatles made their first big splash in Germany – and managed to leave behind an influence that grew heavily during the early 60s, and spawned a really great underground of cool combos and early beat groups!
This package offers a stunning look at the German scene in the early and mid 60s – and was done in collaboration with Ugly Things magazine, with the same sort of deep-digging energy we've come to expect from that publication too. Tracks here are mindblowingly great – not unusual rarities that you'd just dig because they're obscure, but the kind of music that blows away most of the mainstream of the time – and that's some pretty heavy company.
Almost all the lyrics are in English, and the guitars are tremendous – and titles include "She's Out Of My Mind" by The Tornados, "I Like Trouble" by The Starfighters, "I'm On The Outside" by Frederic & The Rangers, "Flames Of Love" by The Rocking Stars, "Give Your Love To Me" by Les Copains, "What Shall I Do" by The Details, "I'm Your Guy" by The Blizzards, and "Right Time" by The Petards. Those psych-heads definitely want it as much as us. Heavy vinyl, heavy cover, and a really beautifully-done collection!
